Based off this article from a while ago:

末日行者 was thought to be re-added for the 16th WoW Anniversary, as a new NPC ID (末日行者) and a new quest related to him was added: 末日行者在门外. The quest is currently marked as Weekly and offers 150 时空扭曲徽章.

This was good news for collectors as the original boss is difficult to find these days and drops unique appearances. Sadly, nothing happened.

With the new 伊利达雷末日龙鹰 mount added, the 末日行者战利品架 toy, the source for them (Doomwalker - Tanaris) and the mount description: "Once a year, a rift in time appears, and strange things occur. The Illidari scouts and Doomwalker were quite surprised to find themselves in Tanaris.", as well as the achievement 魔兽世界十七周年 being added to the 9.1 PTR - Strongly implies Doomwalker would make a comeback on WoW's next anniversary, with the main event appearing in Caverns of Time, Tanaris.

Doomwalker is now confirmed to return in the 17th anniversary event, running from November 15th to December 6th.

The boss can be defeated daily for loot, just like the Dragons of Nightmare and Kazzak, for the entirety of the event, and just like them, will be available every year for each anniversary. Players that are level 30 and above are eligible for loot, including the mount and toy.

Now, it begs the following questions:

Are we gonna be able to loot his original loot table transmogs? Yes, as well as the new 阿卡玛之刃 weapon. There's also one new plate, leather and mail piece.
Are the items going to be soulbound, or BoE like the original ones? The items are soulbound and non-tradeable like regular World Boss loot.
Are they going to scale up to a World Boss ilvl? They currently scale up to ilvl220 for level 60 characters.
Is the mount and toy gonna be 100% drop chance or a new X-45偷心火箭 kind of deal? Hotfixed to be guaranteed drop.

The above image looks like some of the dragonhawks that are flight path mounts in Quel'Thalas. If so, that's cool to finally being able to get a mount that looks like it.

Seems it has a 1% drop chance with a daily lockout and you can acquire it with a character above level 30.

EDIT: The mount and the toy are a 100% drop due to a Hotfix that came on 16.11.2021. People that killed him on 16.11 had to wait for the reset in order to be eligible for loot once again. I can confirm I got it this morning on my 1st attempt, and so did other people.

I'm gonna write a regular FAQ comment regarding this mount and Doomwalker himself. If anyone has any additional info, please comment and I will edit my original comment.

At the moment, I have killed him on my 12 characters, 9 of them being level 60, and 3 of them being 50. I received loot on 3 characters, and on 9, I only received gold.

Information we know or I can confirm from my personal experience:

- I only got epic loot on my 60 characters. The loot ilvl is 220. The items I got were Talon of the tempest (220 ilvl) on my ele shaman, Ethereum Nexus Reaver on my UH DK and the plate helm on my protection paladin. I didn't receive any gear on my 50 characters. Maybe this is a coincidence, but I can't tell for sure. EDIT: You can get loot on lower level characters. People stating that they got items on level 50 and some even got at lower (all lvl 30+ though).
- The loot is BOP. You can't trade it / send to alts.
- I haven't handed in the quest, I just portalled to Caverns and went straight to killing him. I was still eligible to loot.
- You can get a piece of gear + a vanity item. On my paladin, I received the Faceguard of the Endless Watch (ilvl 220) + The toy.
- When you kill him for the 2nd time, you get nothing. This essentialy means it's either a daily or a weekly lockout. We will know tomorrow for sure.
- This is obviously my assumption, but from seeing how many people got the mount vs. how many killed Doomwalker (I usually asked in /1 and ppl even said themselves), I would assume the drop chance is fairly low, going from 1-5%. We will see in the next few days when we get a bigger sample size.

If you have any additional info, it's very welcome.

Not sure if high drop rate or if I'm just lucky as hell.
Got toy on 1st kill and got this mount on my 2nd kill on an alt.
Hopefully it has a high drop rate to make it easier to get for everyone.

Pretty sure this drops regardless of opening the dev team mail or accepting the subsequent quest to kill the Doomwalker, would be nice to get some feedback if someone dropped it without doing any of these things.

So today I tried this boss three times.
On the 2nd try I looted the toy and on the 3rd I got the mount. Latter one is directly placed in the bag.
Must've had insane luck. Maybe I should give the bindings of 雷霆之怒，逐风者的祝福之剑 another go as well...

It bemuses me why people would farm this utter garbage that blizzard put zero effort into. All they did was move the colour slider simply desaturating the texture and THEN they gave it a low drop chance? Why? The previous ones were 100% on the quest completion
They weren't even bothered using a modern Dragonhawk model. Says it all about how they value you guys and gals really.

Love these drop chance mounts... 25 attempts and counting (stopping at 25 for the day) meanwhile my friend gets the toy on kill 1 and mount on kill 2 -.-

I got Akama's Edge on kill 5 (coincidentally on a DH), toy on 6 and had the odd other drops since, namely boots and capes.

EDIT: Day 2, another 25 attempts, nothing. Later on my friend told me they hotfixed so I logged on another char just to go get it. 51 Scuffed Attempts XD

Killed Doomwalker today on 50 Alts (14 x Level 60) (36 x Level 50+)

Day 1 Results : No mount, starting to have all the hallmarks of a 1% drop rate!

Those who receive it after just a handful of kills are extremely lucky

I normally reserve my 2nd account of alts for love rocket (x45) event but I think I might need to re-activate it judging by todays numbers!

*EDIT: Day 2: Blizzard announces 'With a hotfix that has just gone live to all realms, Doomwalker now has a 100% chance to drop the Doomwalker Trophy Stand and the Illidari Doomhawk mount.

This is not retroactive, so player-characters who already killed Doomwalker today should expect to find success by trying again tomorrow.

I got the mount on my 2nd try and saw many comments of people also getting it, so I have the slight assumption that they increased the drop rate 🤔

Luck was not on my side today.
Got 27 kills, no mount so far. Also no Akama´s edge.
Don´t know about the drop chances, but i´d assume that they´re low.

So I got the mount, to help with all questions I've seen in game:
I was level 46, so no you do not have to be a specific level to get the mount
I did NOT pick up the quest to kill Doomwalker, I just logged into a toon I haven't logged into forever and went to Tanaris and killed him, and got the mount, directly went into my inventory.

You don't need to complete the breadcrumb quest to get the mount. I just took an alt straight there and got the mount after tagging boss.

53 kills for me, I think this is a bit in the middle in terms of luck\bad luck from what I saw, I joined several raid groups and saw many times not a single drop, sometimes 1 single drop, only once 2 drops in the whole group, and I would say it ranges from 1 to 2% drop, with more kills under the belt the picture can be more accurate ofc.

Did 49 kills the first day and took me around 6h cause of having to fly there all toons, 2nd would've taken significantly less with most alts in position.

Oh, and class trials aren't eligible, tried one at the end of my first day round.

TBC Classic player here who LOVED achievements/mounts/collectables in retail when I did play it.

Decided that my wife and I were gonna kill Doomwalker every day during event JUST IN CASE we were to go back and play retail and not regret giving it a try. Just going to kill it on our mains. Nothing crazy with alts or whatnot.

First kill it dropped WITHOUT talking to Chromie first. Didn't realize there was a quest item in the anniversary bag.

Killed this today and the mount dropped for literally everyone on the kill. There are 50+ people sitting on their doomhawks right now. Not sure if they changed it the drop rate somehow or if it always dropped this way for all players in on the kill.

Confirming they must have stealth hotfixed the rate. I ran 50+ characters over the last day, and only in the last 10 mins or so did I see everyone getting it.

So i really never rant here but this is absurd on another level and i congratulate everyone who just got the mount because
its obvious mount is now a 100% drop.
But i set up an army of alts to farm this mount since its a once a year event.
I have 123 characters which are level 30-60 and i got it on my 203rd attempt!
Why not make it 100% in the first place and state that it should be 100% so everyone knows when it isnt that this is a bug ?
That way people can get a kill and see that something is wrong .
You wasted a lot of people`s time like this and its not good for the community as a whole our time is precious but you make it feel like
its something you can throw in the garbage can.
To everyone who just got the mount gratz
To everyone who wasted a day and half trying to farm it i cant say much.. but this kind of attitude will lead to nothing good.

OMG cannot believe what happened!

The first time I tried this won nothing at all. Normally the gods of RNG don't favour me too often.

But... on the second attempt I won the mount, the toy and a 220 belt! Absolutely amazing! The gods of RNG smiled upon Spong just now,

For hunters looking for a matching pet to tame: 玛纳斯 is of exactly the same shade of grey/silver.
You'll find him in Winterspring 63, 80. (Respawns every 4 hours approximately)

And you can pick the 银色龙鹰幼崽 as a companion pet. :-)

On Day 2 of the 2021 event it is a 100% drop for 1 on your account it seems, not 100% on all attempts in my tries, only got it 1x.
