Stormriding also sounds like it could be some kind of enhanced dragon riding thing.

Holy christComment by trashemojiROCK AND STONE TO THE BONEComment by mremaknuMaking it dwarf-centric in the specific would be kind of narrow and really difficult to hold interest, but having to go underground and/or investigate some origin points for other races, places, and creatures would explain why dwarves are showing up as a thematic focus at all.

Dwarf-specific wouldn't work for the same reason that pirate-centric wouldn't work.
