5.4 PTR: New Rare Spawns, Pirates and Events

The ruined Dread Ship Vazuvius lies to the south of Pi'jiu Village. It's overrun by Cursed Hozen Swabby, who are guarding a treasure chest that contains Cursed Swabby Helmet. They drop the Barnacle Encrusted Key which is needed to open the chest.

In the south-east coastal waters, players can help defend a group of spectral pirates led by Captain Zvezdan against undead enemies. If you kill the final boss, Rattleskew, you'll get a special vanity item that summons spectral pirates, Captain Zvezdan's Lost Leg.

Located between the Alliance and Horde bases is Blackguard's Forgotten Cove. These spectral pirates are hostile and closely guard a treasure chest that can be looted once a week and contain coins and BoA items. After you loot the chests, the Rare Spawn are friendly and stand around the treasure chest cheering.

The Rare Spawn can be farmed for Spectral Grog which creates a spectral pirate disguise. Don't loot Blackguard's Jetsam if you want to farm this item, as the pirates will turn friendly after you do.

Evermaw is a rare spawn that swims around the Timeless Isle very quickly. He drops a Mist-Filled Spirit Lantern, which can be used to summon the Dread Ship Vazuvius at the Cursed Graveyard by the Misty Shore. It summons a ship with 170 million HP and constant cannon-fire. The ship drops Rime of the Time-Lost Mariner, which turns players into pink spectral pirates as well as their mounts.

Stinkbraid spawns on the ship by the shores of the Croaking Hollow. He's surrounded by Southsea Firebrew that buff stats and heal you, as well as Southsea Plunderer.

Bufo: Croaking Hollow, to the southeast.
Archiereus of Flame: corners of Ordon Sanctuary.
Ironfur Steelhorn: central jungle.
Imperial Python: central jungle.
Emerald Gander: central jungle.
Great Turtle Furyshell: western beach.
Huolon: flies around eastern half, best place to pull is Burning Way.
Evermaw: swims around island.
Flintlord Gairan: outside the Ordon Sanctuary walls.
Molten Guardian: Ordon Sanctuary and Three-Breeze Terrace.

Annoying as hell to check everything 100 times to see their bodies.willComment by MellroI really like that this island is not a daily grind, but a place that promotes exploration - and in some cases, lore - in order to earn your rewards. You can also grind if you want, but by the looks of it, blizz has encouraged way more interesting, satisfying, and fun ways to get your rewards.

I have to wonder if pet battle tournament winners will also earn timeless coins and how many? And, will there be an option for a PvP pet battle tournament?. I also like the lore quiz idea, it might cause some people to read up on their lore to either find the answers, or just out of interest. Although I wish there was a better way to implement lore, this is still a great idea. On top of everything covered here along with the 5 world bosses, this island seems like it'll be the pinnacle of what WoW used to be in the older days: Exploration, fun events, world bosses, and an overall enjoyable experience with others. They haven't been since Cata. They should really just call them special mobs or something. I mean, we're talking about mobs that respawn in 15 minutes, and appear on the in-game minimap. What is rare about that? Don't expect to see a new TLPD anytime soon.Comment by RyuugaMuradinI know that--at least, so far--The rare elites on the Isle won't drop much but Timeless Coins, but...Can you imagine if Huolon dropped a Thundering Onyx Cloud Serpent?

Just the thought of something like a TLPD or Aeonaxx on this island makes me cringe a little.
