Of all the complaints about this expansion's story, I don't understand any of them... and most of which are from narrow-minded #$%^&s that only see the basic crust of its lore. Dragonflight is the prologue into the Worldsoul Saga, just as BFA was to Shadowlands. No doubt BFA and Shadowlands could have been handled much better, though. But this time, Dragonfight was more down to earth and a breath of fresh air aside from all the DEATH CHAOS DEATH DOOM. It wrapped up loose ends on the dragonflights, with the exception of the Murozond portion with Iridikron leading into the next expansion. A more adventurous feel than world-ending all throughout, with a villian much better handled than Mr. Nipples. We also learned more about Tyr through quests and scattered documents.Three more update patches are after this one leading to World Within's pre-patch.So much complaining in such a short time.
I will admit that Dragonflight has been pretty preachy in regards to "Through the power of friendship!" But otherwise, I've fairly enjoyed Dragonflight's story. It's been really cool to see them expand upon the Aspects and their flights. Even reading War of the Scaleborne, the first half was a lot of world building for the Dragonflights and showed their early days and that was pretty cool too, second half was just a lot of battles that would've been cool to see in cinematics. It's not the greatest story, but it's been a nice break from the doom and gloom of the previous 4 expansions of just constant otherworldly forces showing up and being beat because reasons.
ok.
Eh, I don't get why people complain so much about the story. It's the same people that were saying we needed to return to Azeroth and get our asses back to adventuring rather than cosmic conflicts or another faction war. Did they go hard on that? Sure. But you gotta be able to place that in a larger 20 year picture. And in the overall painting, it's just gonna be just what we needed, before things getting dark and violent and cosmic again. As for Danuser... This has been my favorite expansion, so I can't complain. I'm actually a little concerned he's dropped off the radar. He was a no-show at Blizzcon. Influencers won't talk about him. Something's up, perhaps. Which would be a shame. I think he's well earned his place on the Ion and Metzen team.
