What exactly does this mean? Is this like the way it was in vanilla? Are we stronger this way or nah?
Orc Racial Buff.
Weapon damage empowers class abilities, perc. You know the rules.
I hope they bring back the Attack Power / Spell Power stat in gear... idk it would be a nice throwback.
Seems like a good time to be an orc.
So with this change the titan forging cap on weapons doesn't make sense anymore. If abilities don't scale with weapon damage then weapons are no longer so important as they have been the previous 14 years and no longer represent such a huge spike in power like they did before. Seems a case of different design decisions not communicating with each other before making their choices. If weapons are just a stat stick now, and their DPS doesn't matter anymore, then why is titanforging a weapon to +15 so different than titanforging a robe or a boots to +15?This is a huge change to combat and all the other smaller changes (like the titanforging cap discussed on stream) really need to be considered and tested *after* the impacts of this change go through - not before.
But this change won't bug me, but if does bug out on me, I'll just refrain from attacking.
Been there and done that way back in the day....somewhere around vanilla that was a thing....WTF is with Blizz trying to re live the past?
You know, they should just make it obvious which item is an upgrade and which isn't. Especially with the new Azurite armor it's gonna be impossible to know without using addons or sites.
I think they should bring back "Gear Score"....I really loved it the first time.
So no matter u have the best weapon if i have 3-4 bad epics with huge stats overpowering ur weapon...great blizz :D from somewhat unbalance up to total unbalanced game :)
No priest changes?
I assume casters will use spell power
i welcome this change, getting bad rng on weapon drops rly cucked some specs
I think they are trying to make primary stat to matter more. At the moment it is way better for many classes to just seek secondary stat + weapon ilvl rather than primary stat that is the lowest priority. Often 30-40 ilvl higher items with "wrong" secondary stat are worse than the equipped ones.
Was this really the case in vanilla or people are just saying? If I remember correctly, until now all the damage has been based on weapon. I remember even back in vanilla, slower weapons were always considered better because they had slightly more weapon damage and they will swing slow and hit harder.Still remember 3.4 weapon speed for 2h in TBC and 3.8 in Wrath were very sought after even with 10 ilvls difference. No warforge / titanforge back in the day which means an older raid tier 2h weapon with lower ilvl could still be better than newer depends on weapon damage and speed.
damn time, now the weapon dmg, speed, dps, wont matter, it will be all based on your ap. higher ilvl better stats win
