I mean, one day, that will be everywhere, not just for Chinese players, though I'd really hoped that there would have been a swift solution so those players can still play, I don't know about players who already left, but it kinda makes me think about whether I should take an extended break or not, I grew up with WoW and feeling rather burnt out so a break would be nice but....I kinda don't want one, just in case I want to come back to find out WoW has shut down for good.So many memories and I hope to have many more :)
One day people will return to the dream.
It's amazing how people have such strong opinions about things they know nothing about. All of these comments talking about how !@#$ty blizzard is, or how terrible Chinese companies are....when all we know, is that they couldn't negotiate an extension.Say whatever you will about Blizzard or Netease, the driving force behind ANY FOR PROFIT COMPANY EVER MADE IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND is to make money.Clearly blizzard saw something that was preventing, or at the very least hindering that goal, and tried to fix it.....and Netease saw an opportunity to make more money for themselves somewhere, and neither company was willing to budge. The end result is that the Chinese players suffer, but at the end of the day I really doubt Blizzard is currently happy losing hundreds of thousands, possibly millions of monthly subs, not to mention all the money they get from Chinese players buying mounts/tokens/mogs off the store. So yeah, the only opinion here with any real weight to it is, that sucks for Chinese players.
Does this have anything to do with the Microsoft acquisition of Activision/Blizzard?
Rip, hope Taiwan enjoys the flow of refugees to their servers.Or whatever region they go to.
Sry to say but i dont see this as a loss for EU/NA wow players in any way.
Blizzard or netease wanting more money, in the end they ended up with loosing active subs and a disgruntled bunch of players that have years of memories and fun and social circles made from this game. Why can’t these company’s put their egos to one side and just enjoy what they have created for the diverse community that makes world of Warcraft! Honestly a sad day for wow in general but I feel sorry for the Chinese players.
I have to admit, that it confuses me how sad this makes me right now. Reminds me of how much time one spends within a game that could be gone so very easily. If nothing else I really hope that all these players will be back one day :(
Sad day for all the Chinese players.
R.I.P WoW China =/Now doomsayers will say that WoW is already dead in China.
Just move to another country /shrug
