Everyone got their hands in the pot. It's all about the money and its not worth it for Blizzard to support the additional SKU. ATVi is probably looking at 21 cents on the dollar and Blizzard probably looking at 9 cents on the dollar. This deal most likely fell through because Blizzard probably wants 30 cents on the dollar.
That's just heartbreaking.

I feel really sad for these players. I can only imagine how awful it would be for WoW to suddenly end for me.
No offence, and I feel sorry for the players who now have even less options to distract them from living in an authoritarian s***hole like China, but I find the entire saga darkly amusing considering how much Blizzard pandered to Chinese sensitivities over the years, to the point we got an entire expansion that was Asian (but very predominantly Chinese) coded expansion, and how they've been shut out of one of their most, if not the most, profitable markets.Perhaps this-among other things- will be a cautionary tale for companies eager to do business with such a market, if the price is catering to every last whim of publishers and the Chinese government. If it leads to the decline of treating their playerbase like walking wallets and whales, that'll only be a good thing.Commiserations to the players: I hope, at least, they get a different publisher soon, for their sake if nothing else.
