Okay that's actually pretty funny haha
I like the idea but what if those that can't donate blood?
OK, now this is a good promotion.
"custom liquid cooled PC infused with real human blood!" When did Blizzard hire Lil Nas X to their marketing team?
I'm a huge supporter of blood donations (B- baybee), however, the legal implications of gamifying donating blood have got to be interesting.
I feel like there's a biohazard inherent in using real blood in that PC. As cool as it sounds and it definitely fits the theme, I can't help but wonder if a facsimile wouldn't be a better idea.
TLDR: United States Only
Little known fact: Blood banks in the USA are for-profit organisations. It's much more likely your blood will be sold for cosmetic reasons to people who don't need it, than that it'll end up being used for medical reasons.
' a giveaway of a custom liquid cooled PC infused with real human blood!'Have we got a bit too far on this?
Yikes. Nobody should feel the need to give blood so they can win gaming loot.Give blood because you want to not because you want something out of it...
Whose blood is it?
I like the fact that every class gets a unique reward except sorcerer lmao. The level 2 reward being barbarian only armor is just icing on the cake, bravo blizzard.
Unfortunately since im not in the US I cant donate :(
There is a lot of misinformation on this thread that I feel needs cleared up. I work in a busy hospital blood bank, and am ensure that donated units of blood are safe to transfuse for patients who need them. A lot of things being said here are not entirely true. Not all blood centers in the United States are for profit; most community blood centers are strictly non-profit, and that is where most hospital blood banks that use products for those with critical need (ie, not cosmetic) source their blood from. However, these community blood centers do sell us these donated blood products, but this is for very good reason. There is a ton of overhead associated with blood donation that the general public is oblivious about. Where does the money come from to pay for the phlebotamist who collects your donation? What about the bag and collection materials? There's a lot of time, money, and resources that go into transporting those products to the blood center, and to their respective hospitals once they are proven to be safe. There is a ton of processing & testing done on each donation to ensure that it is safe to transfuse that has to be done by highly trained and licensed staff. Currently, we are facing a shortage of blood products in our area, as is the United States as a whole. Donated blood saves (no exaggeration) 1000's of lifes a day, please consider donating if you are able to.
