People pointing out no one paid any tenders for this and true, but what are tenders? They're things you earn doing things in the game, so you did things in the game -> got tenders -> spent tenders for rewards. As compared to the monthly which is do things -> get reward. Does the middle step matter? Psychologically around currency to many people, yes. In practice in both instances you did something to get something promised.I am not saying for all time such a reward must be withheld from everyone else. I'm saying with so many lousy end of month cap rewards, taking one of them and putting it in a quest-line within 6 months feels like laziness, typical blizzard re-use of assets because they have nothing else or whatever else they have got pulled and is slated to be put on the cash shop later to pad the next quarter. I'm not really upset about this but I am a little annoyed. I feel like I wish they would plan better and have never put it as the monthly reward and instead given us one of the other mounts they've put on the cart for tenders or an as yet not made available again TCG mount or something.
I was really disappointed to see that I had missed it because I didn't know what the July reward was going to be. So, I'm glad that I earned a really cool mount from a really cool storyline.
If I understand correctly then the picture in the article is not the color that is rewarded by the questline?
When are they adding the other skin colours and customisation options though?
Yes yes, the mount was free yay more mounts for everyone woo! But that still does make 1 past month technically have no reward now. I don't care, it's just a thing they might continue to do in the future, meaning some of the items we get for free are just "early access to the item" and not exclusivity. Gets rid of the FOMO I guess.
So the month that it is was the monthly reward was basically just a wasted month then?I don't think the geniuses at blizzard understand their own concept of the trading post.
To be honest, I'm a bit shocked at the extent to which some people's expectations have now reached. You seriously want a refund for game time spent having fun - on the grounds that others will also get something while playing within a shorter period of time with the aim of having fun? What's next? A compensation for women who give birth naturally, while other women give birth earlier through a cesarean section?
These comments were so chronically annoying I had to make an accountRemember when the first week the drake customizations were said to be from centaur renown? Then got removed outright?Me and my friends theorized why they were removed later and never made it to the vendors. Here is what we came up with: they couldn't figure out how to hide the customizations from those who didn't have the dragon. The grotto drake was the only dynamic flying mount that was linked to a limited time offer, which means they had the unique issue of being the only mount they would have to have associated items flagged as being viewable or droppable and what not. They've already figured out how to do this with loot drops a long time ago, but with renown? Seemed like a no. Like, you can still collect the appearances of all the other mounts even if you don't have them because you CAN go unlock them at any time- I don't own the slitherdrake but I get the drops all the time. But you couldn't with the grotto drake. It was exclusive. So they had a few options:1) permanently keep those customization options removed2) find more tedious loot tables for them to stuff those options into3) give everyone the damn dragonClearly they went with 3, which I think is the best option. I'm hoping soon they'll either readd those customization options to the centaur vendors OR the Outlands circuit. Keep in mind I got the Netherdrake back when it was a trading post option, and I'm still pretty happy with this change.
