The lack of a shop and going with a more steamlined character "building" mechanic in HOTS makes it a lot more user friendly and much easier and faster to change on the fly from my experience. Being Blizzard fans often times HotS released a new hero, many of us were already familiar with the hero, its fun to play as one of these Iconic characters you already enjoyed in other games.
