The thing that excited me most is the fact that Arthas has a chance to return. Arthas was right about a lot of things. The purging of Strat is good in hindsight. Those people really were infected. Arthas did a lot of "bad" things in the name of his duty but now we have seen what the light truly is capable of. We saw Turalyon torture people. We saw Xera try and light corrupt Illidan. Arthas was doing good things in slightly bad ways and was shunned for it. I want to see him redeemed.
I love how we finally get to see deeper into a seemingly "figured out" character: Uther. So humanizing! I can't wait to step foot into Shadowlands and read every single quest!
Uther's continued character development. I loved his Arch in Warcraft III and I will love to see his devotion to Justice and the light continue through the shadowlands campaign.
At the moment, I thought Uther was going to try to save his soul. I was clenching that entire scene!
I'm keenly interested in how rebirth of certain souls (avoiding coming out and saying the big one that we'll see) is explained and how it looks, and what kind of impact that will have on how people understand the Dream and druids as a whole.
Since I've tried very hard to avoid any story/lore spoilers (since my first time through an expac is slower to enjoy it), I'm really interested in seeing some of the major lore characters that may or may not be here, and hopefully being surprised at where they've ended up/who they're working for.
I think what really interested me was the fact that we learned Frostmorne spilt Uther's soul! Makes me wonder, were other souls were split? Or if it happened by accident? Does it happen to everyone? Does Arthas have anything to do with deciding that? So many questions! Looking forward to more lore and explanations~ :D

I'm excited for a possible Arthas redemption story. He was possessed by Frostmourne for 99% of the evil he did. The worst thing Arthas did himself was the purge of Stratholme and burning the ships. He made tough choices to save his people. Also be very interesting to see what and if Uther's soul got split into two and if so, where did the other half go other than Bastion.
I'm excited about shadowlands lore in general because we have known about the shadowlands but have never had much if hardly any information on it at all. I will be excited to see where this story takes us in the future as well and if we will perhaps see the "return/rebirth" of any important characters or new allied races if we find a way for more than just ourselves to return from the shadowlands back to the realm of the living after everything is said and done. Very excited to visit each of the zones and get a real feel for how each of the covenants enact penance and atonement upon those who have lived wrongful lives.
I want to know more about Ardenweald and Maldraxxus. I am so hyped about the lore.I wanna feel every single quest in Shadowlands.

Uther shouldn't have dropped Arthas.. I really think the compassionate side of him got torn into two by the light and his vengeful side is what was sent to the shadowlands. I'm so excited to see if they end up meeting and making up at some point, it would really warm my heart. <3
What I liked most about Afterlives: Bastion (and by extension Shadowlands) is how it had actually morally gray storytelling done well! Devos is right to believe that the way Bastion functions now is wrong. It erases individuality and could hide threats like Arthas from the shadowlands. At the same time, she and Uther made a rash decision yeeting Arthas into the Maw, as it bypasses the systems that have worked for millennia and could've been what started the breaking of the machine of death.
Personally, im most excited about discovering what the path Uther has gine down will lead him to. I havent looked at any spoilers, but i cant wait to find out.
I wonder if Arthas will make a comeback in the expansion - his being thrown into the Maw looks like a pretty important lore bait :)
The simple fact that Uther was able to get his justice for what Arthas had done to him was excitement enough, everything else was window dressing.
The whole Arthas and Uther storyline aside, I found it very interesting when Devos said "There is no evil here, the darkness was sealed within the Maw long ago", indicating that something interesting happened there a long time ago (most likely referring to the Jailer), and as we know Blizzard they love to tease stuff like this. It'd be very interesting to see what actually caused the Jailer to be... well? The Jailer, and how he got into the Maw (haven't spoilered myself with too much Beta Lore yet, in case some of this is already known). I hope we explore this in a storyline in Shadowlands, and see how any major characters were involved, such as the Arbiter or the First Ones.
I'm excited to finally talk to Mankrik's wife.
