I have been asking for this hilt model variant since WotLK. I am going to be very upset if they don't let us Tmog the colors as both 1-h and 2-h. They should have flipped 2 of the 4 original ones so players can have both colors as a 1-h and 2-h. Quel'Delars questline was amazing. I really hope they'll finally commit to this. If the new one simply unlocks a copy of it as a 2-h for Tmog when obtained that would be more than enough, no need to make a second one with stats.

Perfect Weapon for Elven Players everywhere as well as a good weapon in general for warriors, paladins, mages, warlocks, and etc.
Kinda disappointed we didn't get Shalamayne.
I remember grinding for the hilt back in Wrath. What a painful and tedious struggle it was to get one to drop. Buying one was out of the question back then since everyone was greedier than a loan shark, so I was pretty much forced to grind for it. Only took a month or so before I got mine to drop (group I ran with said I had first dibs since I was the only one who could actually use it), and the rest of the quest was cakewalk in comparison.Neat that another recolor is coming for a forgotten weapon model, but it's kind of lame that it's a freebie in comparison to the originals. None of that "devalues the original" meme of course; just that a unique look that required effort and grinding being made available for effectively free is just a bit disappointing. Doesn't make it feel special at all, like it's a replica.

Little lore for you: this sword is originally from the Warcraft RPG where it was described as one of Anduin Lothar's swords, the other being the Great Royal Sword (the one Turalyon has now).
so its just a slight recolor..i like what they did with gorehowl, giving it a new model but this is lazy work, it doesnt even look that different from the original ones
ima cry! so many fond memories of when i first started playing, this weapon, and my entire experience coming into the game at wrath. it's so neat to see a nod back to this sword thru all this timey-wimey stuff! my only request is that they add agi to the new version, so my DH can earn/wield the new also! :3
The battered hilt can simply be bought from the normal auction house so its not too hard to come by
