I believe Pattie is an alpaca not a llama (Same model as Springfur Alpaca)
What's in the box!
I'm hoping it's a neck piece we'll have to babysit all of the next expansion.
I think it's more likely the contents of the chest is(are) some dangerous thing(s) connected to Fel and Void the Titans came across, possibly very threatening to them, and decided to hide it in Azeroth, hence why they were careful to write their text in a cypher. Because, heck, I may *eventually* wrap my head around Order and Void having (briefly) united in forging artifacts, but Fel/Disorder is their opposition in the cosmology chart, it makes no sense to me that they'd ever work together. With that out of the way, I think short-term the most interesting thing coming the epilogue was the Burning Legion being a thing before Sargeras became their leader, which means that it can exist without him, all they need is a powerful figurehead that can wrestle its control. Daddy Denatrius, maybe?
It could be a Pandora's Box situation crossed with the Rosetta Stone: containing something so dangerous that whoever made the box would want to warn people in multiple languages of the same text so they understand not to mess with it - that in whatever future, be that Azeroth being overtaken by the Black Empire or the Titans or conquered by Sargeras, the overlords of any of those potential futures are equally warned of not opening the box. Also, fun shoutout to Xala'tath. But surely, that would be more than a rumour after what the Priest and everyone did in Legion/BfA?
I wonder what warcraft III or other older games have to say about this.
This event was neat.A new ground mount and a new flying mount, plus a little journey to top it all off. 10/10
See y’all 5 expansion from now when they finally let us open it.
Could Pattie the Alpaca be a hint leading to Vol'dun, where two other Alpaca mounts can be acquired?I recently reintroduced a friend to WoW, and we've been questing in BfA. Today in Vol'dun, just North of the Vulpera hideaway, we found several curious marks in the desert that I've never seen before. At first, I thought they were terrain bugs, as they looked like irregular black polygons on the sand. But each one has a clearly defined white plant design on it. That suggests that these are intentional, and they are definitely new.I'd suggest looking for clues to another secret in Vol'dun, starting at the sandy area near the Vulpera Hideaway.Of course, the arrows in Valdrakken were visible for weeks, or months, before the Secrets of Azeroth event started. So these might be setups for a later treasure hunt event.
I went to Vol'dun just now and also see the black polygon area. Here is a screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/0VX2yrN.jpg
I don't think Marinth's comment about Tarinth working for the Incarnates is meant to be taken as accurate. "From what I've heard," details sketchy… the writers are making it clear that he knows even less about what happened than we do, and is just reporting rumors.Naturally the citizens of Veldraken blame the Incarnates, because from their perspective the Incarnates are a sinister force responsible for everything bad in the world. If someone who seemed like a good person turned out to be a villain, then the Incarnates must have corrupted him just like they did all those who joined the recent rebellion. It's probably meant to be a commentary on how secrecy can lead people to jump to erroneous conclusions. "Secrets of Azeroth" event, after all.
The quote "That said, we believe this text predates the time when Sargeras ruled over the demons of the Burning Legion." strongly reminds me of the Warlock Xoroth questline for the green flame spells. In the Blade's Edge flashback it is hinted at by a Doomguard that the Legion started out as creatures controlled by the Titans, with the sole purpose of sniffing out anyone or anything using arcane magic. The predating Sargeras hint and this information also lines up with the Order sigils on the chest, if it is indeed referring to the time the Demons were controlled by the Titans. It could be some arcane artifact that the Demons found that had to be sealed at any cost, for example. That's just my two cents. Interested to see where this goes...!
