Top class cinematic, and not just for the graphic quality.Have a good feeling for the times ahead! Also, hope the whole faction war crap is gone for good. Sorry, "RP-PvPers" (but not sorry).
This was a bridge, not really announcement. And those who think Anduin was being a crybaby have never dealt with someone with genuine PTSD. I have, my little brother was a Marine in the 1980s and did/saw some really bad stuff. I've been his rock, his Thrall, for the past few decades. The moment I saw Anduin's eyes, I knew. Blizzard's folks did a good job showing this. The stance isn't just an echo of the Lich King/Arthas. Remember in the BfA main trailer, at the end, Anduin does that same pose, just a bit turned instead of straight on, and gets the army to follow him. So there's the echo of both the bad fears of being as Arthas and also a loss of who Anduin thought he was in BfA. Loss of self and the fear of being the dark evil. The announcement wasn't a fight, wasn't flash/bang. It needed to tie up those ends with the stuff from Shadowlands. The bang is coming, Always bang tomorrow.
I don't have a problem with Anduin being a crybaby, I mean we went from his Dad dying in Legion to have to shoulder the Alliances problems during BFA and the Horde doing some really heinous &*!@. Then he was abducted in Shadowlands, tortured and made to kill people (and admittedly enjoyed killing people) which is contradictory of being a member of the alliance and especially a champion of the Light. However, the part that doesn't sit well with me is the end of the cinematic where they mention, "the sword was aimed at someone".I thought we knew of Azeroth's existence since at least Legion knowing that she is a Titan and the void are attempting to corrupt her. So Anduin and Thrall should also know that it is Azeroth crying out to them and it was Azeroth that Sargeras was aiming his blade at. The only reason I can think of this is the story going one of three ways:1. We find out Azeroth is imprisoned in a titan structure and we discover that world souls are not bound to any element and Sargeras was actually trying to free Azeroth from her prison (similar to what the Incarnates were trapped in)2. We find out there is still an Old God attached to Azeroth that we were unaware of and Sargeras was actually aiming for that3. BFA is going to get completely retconned and we are basically going to rediscover Azeroth which just seems weird to me.
The level of details is amazing. The voice acting, sound and the face expression are on another level. Thank you Blizzard. But how is it possible that nobody from the developers noticed that during the flashback of memory where Anduin was breaking free from Domination magic with the help of the spirit of Varian as well Varok Saurfang he looks the same as now, older, withered and with beard. As far as I know, he was younger, with longer hair and no beard.
