We’ve had similar problems with other legacy events in past WoW Classic content releases such as the AQ40 War Effort events and it’s pretty obvious at this point that these types of older events just don’t quite function right in modern environments. As much as we’d like to make them play out exactly as they were, we’ll be examining many such events for improvements for future content releases or potential seasons of the various different flavors of WoW Classic to hopefully avoid some of these headaches in the future.

There's some excitement for classic+ but having to level to 60 again to do new content would kinda suck.

If they give us back classic Era characters that we didn't pay to copy when tbc launched that would be a totally different story though!Comment by AsgrimI fully expected Classic+ to be a thing after Wrath atleast, because surely they wouldn't just keep on going through the dogwater expansions? But at this point I've pretty much given up hope. It seems like they are dead set on doing the easy thing which is just a rerun of the old expansions with minor adjustments which I suppose is cool for those who didn't play back then but as someone who really enjoys the foundation, class and world design and general gameplay of old WoW but don't have much of an interest in grinding old content that I've already played when it was current I feel kinda SOL. I find it very difficult to dedicate any serious amount of time to Classic when I know that it is essentially an MMO without a future, a nostalgia ride that has already peaked.

Comment by BigBadDadincreasing the level cap to 70 on classic + would make it doa. One of the primary selling points of classic vs all the other expansions is the size of the world. If you increase the level cap, you nullify the entire old world. Expansions are supposed to EXPAND THE GAME. Yet wow expansions shrink the world into 3-5 new zones and you never see the rest of the old world again. An extremely easy win would just be to make a scarlet crusade micro patch with a new raid and dungeon, balance changes and light quality of life. Keep it simple and it'll be a free win.Comment by XingbgPersonally I hope that they release Cata classic(would be great if they release it December/January) and then 4-5 months after that they release classic +, that way people will have settled in Cata and won't need much play time to keep up and will be able to play both(if they wish to).

Also I do prefer fresh servers, but I agree that leveling can be changed a bit and by that I don't mean to make it faster by lowering the XP needed per level or the amount of XP quests gives, but by putting extra quests in each zone, so that people don't have to jump around all over the world. That will be enough to speed up the leveling quite a bit without making it obsolete, because personally(and I'm sure a lot of other people) I love the leveling in classic.
They can make elite quests give more xp and better rewards, but have enough quests, so that people can skip them if they don't want to solo them or find groups and not struggle with xp. Literally by putting just an extra 1-2-3 quests per zone(few more for emptier zones) will be enough. Heck they don't even need to do it for all the zones, since some zones have plenty of quests like Hinterlands, STV, Un'goro etc...Comment by iloverexxarthe only way classic+ could work is with horizontal progression, they could just add new zones,dungeons,raids,items,proffesions,races,classes while keeping everything lvl60.

It would be dumb if WoW awakening leak is real and max lvl is 70 and that is basically TBC which makes the entire azeroth obsolete.Comment by ixnorpI always hear people go on about how the game world shrinks when a new expansion happens but unless you're leveling yet another alt you just don't go hang out in places like Desolace, Duskwood, or Hinterlands for no reason. Your game world already shrunk because you out leveled it. I think Classic+ is just wishful thinking for people, as well as a terrible idea, because it means that Blizzard will be Stretching the Devlopment to thin

This has resulted in content cuts across DF and recycled "filler of filler" content for multiple patches in a row now. It's laughable to think people expect some brand new content being developed for Classic, of all things.
