tracker snacks are good for hunting these for non hunters as it makes you track beasts.

also in both of the places there are few neutral beast also for alliance or quick horde i advise the areas to the north west, east, south , north, and east of the lumbermill in the eastern end of elwynn as they seem to be on a linked spawn timer so the faster you kill th faster they seem to spawn.

but over all after farming a bit in both it seems drasticly easyer in elwynn compared to tristfal(sorry horde but gl none the less).

These turkeys have a far larger range than the picture above describes. It goes from the western fork in the road to east of brill.

Best place I found to hunt the turkeys is in the south eastern part of Tirisfal. Start at the edge of the bulwark in the corner near the cliffsides and just follow the road (be sure to cross over to the other side every now and then) killing every turkey you see, by the time you make it to the LW trainer, you've more than likely gotten all forty turkeys.

I had no problem using Shadow Word: Death to kill the turkeys. Instant cast spells work fine.

Warlock spells worked just fine for killing and looting as long as my minion was dismissed, otherwise he got the kill before the spell and thus no loot.

These were pretty easy to kill for the achievement, I even was able to do it at 9pm (6pm server time).

1. hotkey /target Wild Turky (hunter's tracking and/or tracking potions help, but aren't necessary)

2. when a turkey comes up put a raid mark on it so it's really quick to see I found that the green triangle and the purple square were the easiest to see

3. if you have an instant cast AoE (Arcane Blast, Holy Nova, etc.) or any instant dmg/dot, you'll do fine. I'm sure a fast attack would be fine too. Instant AoE is good, because you can just run near the turkey

4. if there's another nearby, you can take time to loot, if not, mount up and start spamming the /target again re-mounting isn't always the best route. basically you'd only re-mount if it's far enough away that running there isn't fast enough

For Horde: go from Brill toward the Bullwark and back, crisscrossing the road and you'll find tons, though you may have to compete for kills.

For Alliance: start around the Gates of Stormwind, work your way south toward Goldshire, then start heading toward the Tower of Azora... if you don't have it yet, I recommend a zig-zag pattern up and down toward the river then back up to Eastvale Logging Camp.... Going above Eastvale Logging Camp can get you to a dead end, where you have to backtrack too far.

Tracker snacks + druid travel form + eastern Elwynn Forest was pretty effective for me. Melee attack was sufficient to kill the turkey, and didn't require you to switch back to the travel form after the attack (re-mounting takes time). The improved speed of the travel form also gave plenty of time to loot each kill, so you won't need to go back later to get the turkeys required by the dailies

Wild Turkeys spawn all over Elwynn Forest and Tirisfal Glades during the Pilgrim's Bounty event. Apart from their meat being needed for cooking quests during the event, the turkeys themselves are needed for the Turkinator achievement.

DONT macro your attack to this.
Run to Turkey, and wait till your buff is lower than 15sec .. then kill.
Turkeys have short respawn time, but if you kill them on sight, you will run out of them fast... if you will control your speed you can easly farm 40 in one area.

Go to North-West part (whole quarter) and simply kill Turkey when your buff is shorter than 15sec. You should reach 40 without big problem, unless some competition arrive.

After a long time of ninjas stealing my kills in Trisfal, and all around just not finding enough, I eventually found a really good place, namely, the Venomweb Vale and the area north of it, all the way to the Monastery. It had plenty of Turkeys, and since it's such an open area, it's very easy to find, and best off all, few people around, though, I might just have changed that by writing this...

Simply waited halfway through the week to start farming these badboys. I think that's a good strategy: to wait until most players have already gotten their achievements, so there's a really low risk of having competition in an area.

Farming at odd hours also helps, if you've got the time. Overall, very easy to get the achievement associated with it. Prepare to feel the rush when trying it out, because I did.

I just ran around Goldshire getting this. Start from the mountain-y patch of area southeast of SW, circle clockwise around Goldshire, keeping about a 100-yd distance from it. There's plenty of turkeys to kill, don't worry about waiting until your buff is at 1 second to kill another. Took me about 4 rounds to get the achievement.

Got the achieve The Turkinator within 5min (non-hunter macro):

/target Wild Turkey
/run SetRaidTarget("target", 7)

It works after you target your first turkey, then adds a red X. You'll see your target on the mini-map. 5min, promise ... don't worry about other players, unless they have the same macro.

If you're doing it in Elwynn Forest, try around Westbrook Garrison in the middle of the night. Make sure the buff timer is between 5 and 10 seconds before each kill. It'll give the turkeys enough time to respawn.

building on daros' macro I came up with this for my druid

/cast moonfire

by "building on" I mean I added /cast moonfire ;-) but if you're not good at making macros, and you're a druid, I found this fast. if the turkey is in range, it'll kill it with moonfire, if it's out of range, you'll have the raid target to help you get closer. so basically, you can just use your fastest movement method (flight form is better than a mount because of the instant cast) and spam this while running at turkeys.

edit, actually this works so well I barely got away from goldshire before I had 40, AND I was looting the corpses for cooking.

For horde players, I suggest going to the Venomweb Vale. Most time, there is nobody else there, it is filled with turkeys and I got my av there on the first try.

Cooking each Slow-Roasted Turkey gives 2 cooking levels. So no need to worry about picking up every wild turkey meat.

I use a /target wild turkey macro and enable target tracking on the tracking menu. That way i don't have to find a star or whatever its on my mini map.

As of the 2023 Pilgrim's Bounty, Wild Turkeys can also be found around The Watering Hole in Ohn'ahran Plains, which is at coordinates 72, 50.

Hi! Pilgrim's Bounty 2023 here, and I find using a hunter best but any ranged can grab turkeys by using a macro.
