Wrathion's Questline in Patch 10.2 (Story Spoilers)

WARNING: Patch 10.2 Story Spoilers in this post!A Dragon in Hand is Worth Two in the Roost> Tell me of the Netherwing.
I confess, I have not met them myself.
Sabellian however, has provided some helpful information about them.
They were created from nether energies that mixed with the black dragon eggs stored in Outland. Apparently, they are entirely separate from Sabellian's brood... but when you think upon it, they are still our direct kin.
I suppose we both have bizarre circumstances surrounding our origins.

Mordenaku: <Player> is here? I look forward to meeting them again!
Wrathion: Ah! Your timing, as always, is impeccable, <Player>.
Wrathion: But the Aspects would appreciate the aid of the Netherwing in helping to protect the new world tree.
Mordenaku: Normally, me and my flight would do anything to help <Player>. However, you want us to go to war.
Mordenaku: If you want us to endanger ourselves, what will you give in return?

Vyranoth: --if I may, Wrathion?
Wrathion: Of course.
Vyranoth: Wrathion has told me of your Outland... a harsh place. Your flight would benefit from safer spaces. You are true dragons. This isle is a home for every flight.
Vyranoth: The Valdrakken Accord has accepted me, though I was an enemy. They will accept you. Your flight will flourish here.
Wrathion smiles.
Mordenaku furrows his brow in thought.
Mordenaku: A proper home for my flight, safety for our eggs, and wings outstretched in welcome.

Wrathion: Hard to believe, I know--but I believe your people have a much deeper understanding of what it means to be altered in the shell than most.

Mordenaku: Do not mistake my words, however. Our shells may have been kin to your own, but we have since developed our own flight, and our own culture.

I have been doing well, dealing with living in Outland.
Vicious monsters. Ravaged landscape. The usual.
I understand Illidan was resurrected recently and helped save Azeroth? I find that hard to imagine.
Ah, but enough about my thoughts!

Vyranoth seems to be quite invested in their future, wouldn't you say?

Only that Keeper Odyn uplifted another flight of dragons to be his personal chauffeurs, lackeys and lapdogs.

There's also the bit about insisting the dragons did not deserve to defend the world, and the part about selling his eye for forbidden knowledge, and that whole "subjecting an adopted child to an eternity of torment to suit his needs" moment, as well as abandoning his duties as prime designate...
But those affronts don't seem to... disturb her quite as much as the treatment the storm dragons have received.

Wrathion has been telling me about the storm drakes. The Thorignir and their... "creator".

He has virtually enslaved these dragons, after declaring dragons unworthy of protecting Azeroth!We have heard the call, but we cannot answer.

Eyir: Honor compels me to stop you, dragon.
Vyranoth: Then you have more honor than Odyn.
Vyranoth: The same honor that the Thorignir hold. They remain here though they are called to a greater cause--protecting Azeroth.
Vyranoth: Stand aside, Eyir. This matter does not involve you.
Eyir: May your battle prove worthy, dragon.
Vyranoth: And yours as well, should you ever choose that path. Your arrogant keeper has not treated his servants with respect... or truth.

Vyranoth: A likely story, whelp. You knew I would not abide such hypocrisy.

Vyranoth: Own it and just be glad I have not eaten everyone here. I am being diplomatic.

Wrathion: Ah, Odyn! We'd like to have a word with you. Several, actually.
King Ranulf shifts awkwardly and looks at the others.
Odyn: Most impressive! I never thought I would meet anyone who could match the Valarjar's strength--
Wrathion: Save your words, keeper. Are you really too cowardly to face us yourself?
Odyn: Impudent whelp! You dare insult the ruler of the Valarjar? Face me, then!
Vyranoth: Coward. Hypocrite. Liar!
Vyranoth: You come to this world, and demand its children bow to you? You dare?
Vyranoth: You claimed dragons were not fit to protect Azeroth, yet you bound them as your servants!
Vyranoth: You call them "born of gods", and claim ownership of their greatness!
Vyranoth: The Thorignir were and are great without you. Their honor keeps them bound here, but you have never earned it!

Would be poetic justice, for lying and hiding the truth from others... as well as insanely cool visual-wise, when we ultimately confront him.

Not really, in my opinion Odyn made up for his mistakes by creating an afterlife that can save people from the terrible fate of Shadowlands, although as I mentioned in my previous comment, it'd be nice if he let more people than just the warriors in.Comment by WillowwhispWhat an absolute delight to see Lady Vyanoth kick Odyn's butt. Not really, in my opinion Odyn made up for his mistakes by creating an afterlife that can save people from the terrible fate of Shadowlands, although as I mentioned in my previous comment, it'd be nice if he let more people than just the warriors in.Comment by SepiaOtter333Awesome, and I wish we can see the return of the Twilight Dragonflight, especially the return of one of the Twilight Dragons the spawn of Vexiona who was cleansed by Wrathion, and hopefully we will not only see the same cleansed Twilight Dragon all grown up, we will see it both leading the other cleansed Twilight Dragons to aid the other Dragonflights in defending Amirdrassil from Fyrakk, his fellow Primalists, and his Druids of the Flame allies and being the Representative/Envoy of the cleansed Twilight Dragonflight.Comment by SarcumaHere we go, now all the lord nerds can study the questline in full detail and pretend like they knew everything was going to happen.Comment by DattofferIt's funny to see them going all out against Odyn because they are sure he is seen as a jerk by the majority of players.

So afraid of backlash now they will only get bold in writing if they are absolutely sure there's no risk.Comment by hobbidaggySo….we will be restoring…reviving….running the boot disk on Tyr before the end of the expansion and he will be returning……this will lead to the Aspects getting their aspect powers back, but we now have additional dragon species like the Netherwing and the Thorignir and we could possibly find more.

What do we think a new set of Aspects for these additional flights be also introduced? Include an aspect for all flights, we also have the friendly Void Dragon from BFA that helped us after we destroyed the remains of Onyxia and Nefarian in Blackwing Descent as well as the egg Wrathion mind wiped after we killed N’Zoth. Wrathion never does something without a specific purpose.

The council of aspects would be good to start including more dragonflights now that these additional flights have helped essentially protect and restore the powers to the old Aspect flights (Twilight hopefully making a helpful appearance as well before expansion end)Comment by LionButLeonWrathion stuff yayComment by FrankyzappaThe storm dragon recruitment is legit one of the coolest quest sequences I've read about in WoW in a long time. Vyranoth going to Odyn and telling him to eat %^&* is satisfying. I'm down with this.
