Low-Quality Gear Will Instead Drop as Crafting Materials in Diablo 4 Season 2

Crafting materials will drop in place of low-quality gear.
Normal and Magic items will no longer drop in World Tier III.
Only Ancestral items will drop in World Tier IV.

Comment by hobbidaggyWhat about selling the items? This should be a toggle feature or gold increased to compensate as respect become costly for people and all gold counts in the end. If I have a huge amount of crafting materials I have not used I would rather sell my inventory for the gold instead.

Toggle this to become something like:
Convert Low-Level Gear to Crafting Materials:
- Normal
- Magic and below
- Rare and below

This will allow people to just convert base normal, normal and magic or normal, magic and rare and the items outside of this drop as normal allowing people to vendor it for gold if they want to.

How will this also impact the Transmog system they built? You need to equip the item if I remember correctly to unlock the Transmog and turning it into crafting material negates that unlock process. Sure you might not be playing WT 3+ for Transmog but if you’re missing stuff it’s nice to get that piece no matter when or where it drops.Comment by HistoryxSo they basically made a game where Rares are just a Color now and not actually rare and are the base item type that drops?

Wow so fun. D4 really needs a hard look at the loot system. No Runes, No sets, White items serve no use but in D2 were useful for rune words... arrrrrug. * In World Tier III: Normal, Magic, and non-sacred Rare items will drop as crafting resources.
* In World Tier IV: Normal, Magic, and non-ancestral Rare items will drop as crafting resources.
* Gold drop rates in World Tiers III and IV have been increased to compensate for this.
