I'm sorry but the whole "going dark" thing has been cringe everytime its happened since the race started being streamed in BFA. What is the point of streaming the race to show everyone your prog if you're just going to turn the stream off at the last boss while you do the hard progression. At that point, why even stream the race at all? If you're that scared of strats being yoinked then why not go back to how races were in Legion and before where nobody streamed them? Just seems a bit bizarre to want to stream the RWF for transparency and to show your skills but then not stream pulls on the big bosses.
So stupid going dark. Part of the reason I havent watched. Whats ther point of getting invested for them to kill it off stream? just come to an agreement together you wont do it.
No interest in watching either guild do garbage pulls while they test things and build weakauras so I have no problem with turning streams off or muting comms.If we get to the point where an important boss is killed off stream, that's going to be a different story
It's almost surreal how it's considered acceptable for a competitor in something like this to just hide their performance at will. Isn't the whole point of contests like these to display the competitors? Trying to put a positive spin on it at the end of the article is cute, I get that Wowhead has a vested interest in this race as well, but it really just seems like selfish behavior to me to deny the audience the ability to view the home stretch of the race in real time.
People don't understand that, at the end of the day, it's a race/competition that the guilds want to win. Streaming is an additional service, but they don't owe it to anyone, so they do what they gotta do to try and win. Room temp IQ if you don't understand that.
its all BS for going dark , i do get u want to not show strats but if people are helping by donating their time and money to ur guild i think going dark is just down right rude.
Lets be real these dudes owe you nothing just like you owe them nothing, they give you the privileged to watch them do RWF just as we give them the privilege of watching them or paying for their subs, I mean yes they have sponsor but this is a race to the checker flag and any team ahead will do what it takes to win even if that means cutting off the streams, yes folks will be mad n thats comes with anything but half the folks don't care or will not care especially if said team wins, but thats just my take on the whole thing, lets wait n see what TOMRUS n Ja Rule has to say about the whole situation.

If you don't, it's a you problem."Going dark" is for a few pulls to test WAs and just gather data and yes it may be during crucial timings for their progress, they don't owe you anything.Rwf streams are not some big official competitive esport supported by Blizzard and thousand of sponsors and everything. To this day it is still a guild thing. Even if it has evolved quite in the direction of an esport activity with a few sponsors, big esport team stuff and the money and equipement that comes with it, it's still not, just look how many players from both Liquid and Echo play from their home. So yeah they totally have the rights to do so. What matters to most viewers and in fact sponsors aswell is for them to win. And still 99% of the race is streamed and results of the off-stream testing will be show tomorrow.Also it does actually brings diversity, since Echo has done it Liquid may handle a mechanic differently than if it was streamed and stuff which actually leads to cool scenarios. There is very little chance for them to actually kill a boss off stream and if it would be close to happening and they start to get like 1% pulls and are willing to push to the kill they simply would get the streams up again.
Sponsors should just drop them for doing this crap.

You can feel how hard Max tries to milk RWF but dont want to share their precious strat for the boss at the same time. They have a headstart advantage, vault advantage the 2nd week but they still hiding, pretty cringe tbh. Mute is also hilarious, after 5 mins the other team sees what they were talking about anyways... Stream the whole stuff or dont bother at all, choose.

Going dark may be the best strategy to win. But its lame as a fan trying to root on the guilds.
So dumb. Like others said, don't stream at all then. Also, it's not like Echo and Liquid use the same strats. It's always mentioned that they somehow get very different ways to approach the bosses. Sooo, what's the point?
